Family in Amissville
Estel Harrison Ashby, 78, of Alexandria, died on Feb. 24 at INOVA Alexandria Hospital.
He is the son of the late Arthur and Mary Ashby.
Mr. Ashby retired after 35 years of service at Fruit Growers Express Railroad. He was a member of American Legion Post #24 and the Moose Lodge in Alexandria.
Mr. Ashby was preceded in death by his wife, Ercelle Fay Ashby.
Mr. Ashby is survived by his son, Roger S. Ashby of Amissville, two sisters, Margie Wilson and Dale Olinger of Marshall and four grandchildren.
The family received friends on Feb. 28 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. A funeral was held on March 1 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial was at Orlean Cemetery in Orlean.
