made for an international conference at Blacksburg. Each lady who attended could take home a tote bag from all over tbe world.
There is a large tapestry’ hanging at Blacksburg of needlepoint squares of the 100 counties at that time. The Rappahannock committee designed the square showing the mountains in the background, the toll house at Sperrvville, the apple tree full of red apples and George Washington with his surveying equipment.
The square worked by Flo Duvall is included in the tapestry for Rappahannock. Other committee members were Corinne DelGrosso, Violet Cooley and Mary Priest. Two squares are in the Rappahannock Historical Society.
All clubs participated in a scholarship fund given to a graduating senior at Rappahannock County High School. The Amissville Club received money raised by the quilting group which was given for several years. This scholarship was named the Alice Pullen Scholarship.
