Fire and rescue budgets

Rick Wood, chairman of the Fire Levy Board, presented the board s proposed budget for the next fiscal year. County Administrator John McCarthy explained that this budget input came as a result of discussions at last months Board of Supervisors meeting at w’hich local fire and rescue promoted the idea of up-front budgeting in lieu of the current practice of repaying fire and rescue companies for expenditures through the fire levy payment process.

Mr. McCarthy noted that he did not think that there was adequate time to change the procedure for this budget cycle. He also pointed out that his review
