- College information night
Rappahannock County High School will sponsor a College Information Night for parents and students (grades 9 through 12) on Tuesday, March 18 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the school auditorium and room 15 computer lab.
There will be a question and answer session with a representative from Lord Fairfax Community College as well as a session with principal Roger Mello on “Using the Internet for College Searches and Information." For more information, contact Cecelia Dennis, 987-8575.
Hike on March 8
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center will sponsor a hike and trail clearing of the Pass Mountain and Oventop Trails on Saturday, March 8 as part of its “Second Saturday" hike series. Bring nourishment and layerable clothing, good foot gear such as gaiters and a change of socks, as it will likely be snowy. A small trimming tool is suggested for shoulder-level bushes and branches, and work gloves. Meet at Mountainside Market (987-9100) on Route 211 in Sperryville 8-8:30 a.m. Next activity: Moonlight Hike on St. Patrick's Day. March 17.
Town meeting on March 20
There will be a Town Meeting on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. to discuss education in Rappahannock County in the high school Band Room. The meeting is jointly sponsored by the Rappahannock County public schools and Headwaters. School officials and principals, students and teachers and others active in the educational community will discuss the future of education in the county. Everyone is invited. Complimentary refreshments prepared by the high school culinary students will be provided as well as free child care. Call to artists for April 26
Artists in all media are invited to apply to exhibit and sell their work at a Country Festival on Saturday. April 26 in conjunction with the 25th running of the Fodderstack 10K race. The festival will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on the carnival grounds of the Flint Hill Fire Department. For more information, contact Bill Jarrett 675-1000.
