If the past two weeks had not
been difficult enough for mail delivery, carriers were then treated to Ms. Sollinger's article in the Rappahannock News regarding delivery in Rappahannock.
I’m one of three carriers working out of the Boston Post Office. We have a combined 56 years of experience among us. We deliver to an estimated 500 boxes located in Boston, Castleton and Woodville. Having never met Ms. Sollinger we were curious as to where her information came from.
The snow paths she writes of have been few and far between but certainly not banned by our post office. Our instruction has been to deliver to boxes if we feel we can do it without injury or accident.
We’ve used our personally owned vehicles to try to break paths into the boxes. We have also left our vehicles to wade knee deep in the snow to get to boxes.
It’s not unusual to see the prior days mail unremoved. Imagine doing this several hundred times a day six days a week. Our postmaster even went out and shoveled the
