From April 26 through May 19, Washington Virginia’s renowned watercolorist Lois Manookian will have her first one-person exhibition since 1997.

The show documents her recent personal and professional journeys through the county and the world with paintings of places and objects that spoke to her along the way. A reception will be held for her on April 26.

Front Royal artist Chris Stephens will exhibit his colorful and mystical oil paintings of the Virginia countryside from May 22 through June 17.

His Shenandoah Valley landscapes are painted from life and exude the exhilaration the artist feels from being outdoors, trying to come to terms with the light and how it varies with seasonal and atmospheric changes.

There will be a “Meet the Artist” reception for Stephens on May 24 from 4-7 p.m.

The gallery is on historic Main Street. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Monday. For more information call 987-3121 or go online to www.longviewgallery.com.
