Rappahannock County High School culinary students learn how to prep foods, thanks to a grant last year by Headwaters to culinary arts teacher Mary Arthur to expand culinary education. This year Headwaters gave funding to biology teacher Patti Waddell for supplies to develop a butterfly garden in the greenhouse; to Melissa Jenkins at the elementary school to purchase math manipulatives to help students better understand math; to Carol Johnson to develop a Parent Information Center and to reading teacher Sunshine Keeney for her Building Successful Readers project. Headwaters thanks the donors who make these awards possible and encourages county residents to attend a Town Meeting on Education on March 20 at the high school.
