Flint Hill carnival date

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company has set June 11-14 as the dates for its 2003 carnival. This year’s event will feature special surprises for children of all ages. Organizers are seeking contestants for Carnival Queen. Interested parties may contact Karen Williams at 635-4673.

Black History program March 9

The Black History Month Program sponsored by the Women’s Auxiliary of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association, Inc., has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 9 at 5 p.m. at the Wayland Blue Ridge Center, 15044. Hearing on comp plan

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging will hold a public hearing to receive comments on its 2004-2010 Comprehensive Plan on March 11 at 1 p.m. at 15361 Bradford Road in Culpeper. Meeting on Sperryville

Services for Lent begin

The Washington Baptist Church will host ecumenical services fpr Lent beginning on Wednesday, March 12 and continuing each Wednesday through April 9. Nearby Catholic, Episcopal, Baptist and Methodist churches are participating. A pot-luck dinner at 6:15 p.m. begins each gathering, followed by a one hour Lenten service which begins at 7 p.m. Nursery care is available. The public is invited.

RAACpresents humorist

The RAAC Library Series will feature cartoonist and humorist Macke Rowe on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m at the library.

4-H Talent Show March 23

The 4-H Share the Fun Talent show will be held Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock County High School. Tryouts are March 11 at 3:30 p.m Persons interested in performing may pick up information at the high school, elementary school or the extension office. Contact is Evelyn Oyster at 937-2128.
