Long View Gallery in Sperryville will present the work of three area artists this spring.
The gallery reopens on March 13 with an exhibition of William Whiting’s magical landscapes of the northern Piedmont and Blue Ridge areas of Virginia.
Entitled “Winter into Spring,” the show ranges from Whiting’s impressive panoramic landscapes of spring in the mountains to intimate winter scenes along the rivers and in the hollows of the Blue Ridge.
His show will hang through April 21 with a reception on Saturday, March 15 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Whiting is one of the area’s most popular painters and collectors prize his work. His realistic/impressionistic representations of nature are painted with an uncanny use of light, time of day and color.
