McCarthy
From Page A1
Woodville farm home, beautifully hand-painted to capture his home as it really looks, much like a Scottish highlands cottage with peaked roofs, window boxes and shrubs, multi-paned windows, and various additions.
He said he still goes out to the farm as time permits but finds it increasingly difficult to live alone. He also gets tired of5 his own cooking.
Asked what would have happened had he been elected president, Sen. McCarthy said that it wasn't to be, especially after Bobby Kennedy entered the fray. He did volunteer that the “tone” of government and the presidency would have been much different had Adlai Stevenson been elected president.
Sen. McCarthy has fond memories of President John Kennedy. He showed me a montage of large photographs taken at the White House of President Kennedy and himself sharing some lighter moments together.
The presidency and the foibles and strange “projects” of many of its occupants are especially intriguing to the senator who has time to reflect on these things.
