Boy Scout Troop 36 conducted its Spring Court of Honor on Sunday, March 16 at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall.
The Boy Scout Court of Honor is the ceremony in which newly elected Junior Leaders are charged with their duties and where Scouts are recognized for their accomplishments in advancement, public service and learning on the path to Eagle Scout rank.
After the presentation of the American and Troop Flags, and the Pledge of Allegiance, the Boy Scouts rededicated themselves to the ideals of Scouting by reciting the Boy Scout Oath and Law and in prayer.
The invocation was immediately followed by a covered dish dinner provided by the troop parents and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
After dinner the troop commenced the order of the day by swearing in Star Scout Josh Makela as Senior Patrol Leader. Josh then conducted the swearing in of his Troop Leadership, consisting of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Matt Bywaters, Troop Guide Dorian Matthews, Patrol Leaders Andrew Kohler, Mitchell Ames, and Michael Landrum, and Assistant Patrol Leaders Daniel Pierson, Robbie Hamill-Huff, Aaron Oyster and Gavin Forrest.
