A petition is a plea for consideration—in
this case of the candidate, Brandon Fowler.
More than 50 persons signed said document in the hope that another member of the younger generation might serve the community, but the council in its wisdom determined otherwise to the disappointment of those seeking broader and fresh representation.
May the members of council soon respond differently to the citizens’ concerns.

I was deeply disappointed at the attitude of the Tbwn Council this past week under the new leadership of Eugene Leggett as mayor.
He repeatedly showed a clear disdain for the interests of the citizens in the audience.
It started with his stating as a policy that the Tbwn Council meetings are not town meetings but meetings by which the council accomplishes its work, clearly indicating that he did not want to hear what the public had to say.
For eight and a half years my husband made the town meetings open for all comments. Two of the primary users of this privilege were Diane Bruce and Ray Gooch who are now proponents of the new “regime.”
