Two weeks ago, Wolfe wrote a song called “Music before Housework,” detailing her direct struggle with balancing her musical creativity and life’s daily activities.

She usually rises by 6 a.m. and heads straight for the living room to her shiny black Kawai piano. After a brief breakfast break, she will dress quickly and continue writing, for “hours and hours.”

Greatly inspired by nature, she walks among the 600 acres of woods outside her home every day to enjoy the trees, birds and wildlife around her. She leaves office work for the afternoon and shopping and cleaning for the evenings.

“It took me a long time to get to the place where I could really focus on my work as a priority. I have to set boundaries, like anyone who chooses a career in the arts,” said Wolfe, who has also faced another challenge.

Since birth, she has had a visual perceptual condition called Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (SSS), which affects attention span, energy level and depth perception and can cause headaches, eye strain and fatigue.
