Hans Wolfram Gerhard will be showing his recent paintings at the Packing Shed Gallery from April 3 to April 28. The public is invited to an artist’s reception on Sunday, April 6 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Gerhard has been a resident of Rappahannock County since 1987, and has spent several years restoring buildings and rehabilitating the woods and fields of a Slate Mills farm.
Now, with the completion of a studio building on the farm and with flagging demands for the hay he has been producing for some years, he is again turning mainly to the pursuit of his interests in the visual arts.
He was bom and educated in Germany and originally came to the U.S. “for just a year." Returning to Germany, he worked as an editor in academic publishing and taught at the University of Tbbingen.
With his British bom wife, Christian, and three children, he eventually settled in the U.S., teaching at Duke, UCLA and other universities. He later served on the staff of an international organization in Wash
