Dr. Werner Krebser, a man of humble immigrant roots who rose to positions of influence, prestige and enormous respect fci Rappahannock County, died June 6 at his home near Flint Hill.
The cancer that killed him at age 75 was the only force ever to subdue this man of indomitable spirit, dogged determination and deep humanity.
In nearly four decades in this small, rural county, the Swiss-bom physician known simply as “Doc” wove himself into the fabric of Rappahannock in so many ways that it will lack some of its color and texture without him.
