On the issue of abortion I would never want to be in the shoes of a woman who felt that abortion was the only way to resolve a crisis. I doubt that any woman approaches that choice lightly or without a great deal of lasting pain.
But if we’re going to say no to abortion, not only for American women but for women in developing countries, then we have to offer solutions. We have to aggressively promote family planning, sex education, birth control and the economic improvement of women’s lives. These methods tire known to work and to lead to dramatic decreases in the number of abortions.
Politicians of Cantor’s ilk stall, cut and delay funds for family planning under the pretext that some of the money could be used for abortions. For them it’s an ideological game.
On the issue of the second amendment, Mr. Cantor will protect your right to bear arms.
