Library book sale June 21
The annual Friends of the Library book sale will be held Saturday, June 21 at the old Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue in Washington from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This yeaTs offering promises to be the largest and most varied. A preview gala will be held there Friday, June 20 from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. The $10 admission fee to the preview is waived for current FOL members.
Sufi dancing
There will be Sufi dancing or Universal Dances For Peace at the Washington Town Hall on Friday, June 20 from 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. This is a type of relaxing and uplifting folk dancing done allacross the world. Dances will be led by Mariah Dean from Charlottesville. These are free, but a small donation is suggested. For more information, call Rob Sherwood 987-8596.
Summer reading program
The Rappahannock County Library will present “Take Flight—Read,” a summer reading program for children and young adults from June 21 through August 30. Registration begins Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at the library.
Family reunion June 22
The Weaver, Butler and Thornhill reunion will be held June 22 at the Rappahannock Recreation Center on Route 211 in Washington. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring a covered dish. For more information, call Elma Morrison at 540-662-0666.
Vacation Bible School
Woodville Baptist Church invites children ages 3-12 to attend its SonHarvest County Fair, a Vacation Bible School from June 23-27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
At SonHarvest County Fair children learn to apply Biblical teaching to their lives. They will have a great time singing, creating crafts and playing games. For more information call Amanda Hensley at 987-3317.
MS Support Group
A Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will meet at Culpepr Hospital on June 28 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be split with one group meeting for those with MS and another group meeting for spouses, caregivers, family(jnembers and friends. The sacredness of family and friends will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28 at 12 noon on the lawn of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville with plenty of food, fun and friendship. Games for prizes. Games for fun. The Rev. Henry Townes, pastor, and Sister Treavous Lewis invite everyone.
