In other action, Wakefield District and Facilities Committee member Rosa Crocker reported that efforts are underway to develop plans for improved track and field facilities at the high school.

She said that in January of 2002 Rickmond Engineering had completed an athletic facilities study in which they prioritized track and field improvements, and that the committee had recently asked Williams to obtain an estimate from them. Crocker said that the construction of a new track and field facility would be a community effort, and that public and private funding would be sought.

Williams said that she expected to have a cost estimate before the June 30 payout meeting.

Mills said that the goal is to "get a plan (for the track and field facility) on the table using end-of-year and other money— so that this time next year you can say this is how to do it."
