Washington voiced a curious premise in the Rappahannock News recently: that the late Dr. Werner Krebser should have been “ashamed of himself” and issue an “apology” because he had used his last dying wish to ask that the junk cars on Route 211 be removed.

To me, Dr. Krebser’s wish (which our writer describes for some reason as a “holy war” of “coercion, guilt and political manipulation”) sounds remarkably selfless. Certainly the average citizen might make a deathbed wish
