with the Banner team and Honor Guard recently participated in the Fireman’s Parade at the Winchester Apple Blossom Festival.- It was a huge parade and our group received a fantastic response as they played for an overflow crowd. Marching chaperone Sally Havstad commented that the Drum Line played the entire time, never resting. Other chaperones for that day were Marietta Verrill, Lynne Fournier and Cheryl Taylor.
Krystal Heflin, a senior carrying the U.S. flag and Mattie Nawrocki, a sophomore carrying the Virginia flag, made up the newly formed Honor Guard.
The Banner Team consisted of Jessica Estes and Ashley Williams, who looked sharp and proud.
Drum Line members were Samantha Brown, on the quad drums, Brian Taylor on snare, new member Matt Swain on cymbals, and Anthony Clinedinst and Ben Verrill who both played the bass drums.
Although very tired after it was all said and done, all agreed they were putting this parade on their list of things to do for next year.
