An old-fashioned country carnival is being held June 12-14 at 6:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. The parade is on Friday, June 13 at 6:45 p.m. There will be fun for the whole family: carnival rides, barbecue, cotton candy, candied apples and other goodies. Free admission. Pickin’ Party June

14 at Hackley’s

A Pickin’ Party will be held June 14 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hackley’s Store in Amissville, weather permitting. All musicians, singers and listeners are welcome. Bring a lawn chair. This month’s session will be dedicated in memory of Hazel Gray, (longtime resident of Amissville and Hackley’s Store “regular") who passed away on June 3. He was a supporter of the Rappahannock 4H program and helped with the Pickin’ Parties over the last three years.

There will be a 50/50 and gift basket raffle to benefit the Hazel Gray Memorial Fund.

homes on June 15

Architectural historians will provide a slide presentation and program on Rappahannock County’s recently completed survey of historic homes and structures on Sunday, June 15 at The Theatre at Washington from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A catered reception will follow on the lawn beside the Theatre. Everyone is invited.
