Lander asked Thomas F. Tepper, a member of the Planning Commission and president of the Lion’s Club, to prepare a drawing as one idea for the gardens. The drawing was unveiled at the tea. Tepper is an architect and an artist whd is illustrating the county’s five year plan update.
His concept would stretch from Jett and Gay Streets, near the town’s name statue, along Gay Street to the comer of Porter and Gay streets near the Sheriff’s Office.
The most dramatic part of this rendering was a large brick and stone plaza with a fountain in front of the Sheriff’s Office.
Tepper said the Lions Club would likely back such a project.
