Holy Week
This Easter marks the fourth year that Amissville United Methodist Church has placed silhouettes along U. S. 211 in Amissville that illustrate the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The first eight silhouettes are on Route 211 West, and the last four on U.S. 211 East, ending at the church. Shown above is the silhouette of Simon the Cyrenian bearing the cross for Jesus, located near Early’s Carpet. All 12 silhouettes were erected by April 3, and will remain in place through the week after Easter.
