Easter egg hunt
The Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will host its annual free Easter Egg Hunt for children up to 12 years of age on Saturday, April 10 at 11 a.m. Each child will receive a firefighter helmet candy basket.
Beekeepers to meet
The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its April Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on April 15 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the corner of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper. 2004 Relay for Life
Team captains are still needed for this year’s community fund-raiser, "Relay for Life," which raises funds to help fight cancer. The third meeting of team captains, and those interested in being one, will be held on April 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Civil War Roundtable
Joe McKinney of Brandy Station will be the speaker at the Blue Ridge Civil War Roundtable, which will meet April 20 at the Rappahannock County Library. Rappahannock Free Clinic
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a branch of the Fauquier Free Clinic,will be open April 21, May 5 and May 19 at the Rappahannock Health Department in Washington. Patient registration is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. There is currently a shortage of nurses to assist at the clinic. Those willing to help (it is not necessary to be a RN) are urged to call the clinic at 6752525 or 347-0394.
RappFlow event
A RappFlow public education event on the role of forests in Rappahannock County and the best ways to manage them will be held on April 24 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Farm in Sperryville. For more information contact rappflow@earthlink.net.
International Festival April
Costumed performers, festive tents, and exciting music and dancing will turn the baseball practice field next to Rappahannock County High School into an International Festival on Sunday, April 25 from noon until 4 p.m.
Entertainment will include “English” Maypole dancers; Abasi Johnson’s group "More Than a Drum," featuring African percussion instruments; Turkish-American folk dancers; and “Black Heritage," an international jazz group from Berlin, Germany. Admission is free.

Lions Club auction May 1
Lions Club President Tom Tepper asks county residents to support the Annual Lions Club Auction to be held at Bill Payne’s Auction Barn on May 1 at 5 p.m. All proceeds support community activities that help those that need it most.

Art exhibit in Orange
Virginia National Bank is sponsoring an exhibit of original work by Wesley Dennis (1903-1966), noted artist and illustrator of classic children’s literature, at The Arts Center In Orange May 23 through July 10, 2004.
