OFFICIAL CALL FOR A MASS MEETING
OF THE RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY
Thursday, April 15,2004 at 7:30 p.m.
I, Kirk T. Milam, Chairman of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee, issue this Call for a Mass Meeting to be held on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Rappahannock County Courthouse. Registration will begin at 7:15pm with the Mass Meeting starting at 7:30 pm.
The Purpose of the Mass Meeting is to:
1. Elect a County Committee Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Precinct Chairman and Committee members. All persons seeking election to any of these posts or to wishing to be elected as a delegate or alternate to the State or Congressional District Conventions must prefile by sendning a statement in writing to that effect to the Chairman via US. mail to 9 Mill Hill Road, Huntiy, VA 22640 or via facsimile to (540) 727-8987 no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 14,'2004.
2. Elect up to thirty (30) Delegates and thirty (30) Alternates (with a voting strength of six) to the State Convention which will be held on June 4 - 5, 2004, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on June 4, at the Richmond Convention Center, 300 North Fifth Street, Richmond, VA.
3. Elect up to thirty (30) Delegates and thirty (30) Alternates (with a voting of six (6) to the Seventh Congressional District Republican Convention to be held at 10:00 am on May 8, 2004 at the Pocahontas Middle School, 12000 Three Chopt Road, Henrico County, Virginia, or an alternate site if necessary.
The purpose of this meeting is to:
a) Elect a Republican Congressional District Chairman for the Seventh Congressional District;
b) Elect three (3) representatives to the State Central Committee;
c) Elect three (3) delegates and three (3) alternates to the 2004 Republican National Convention to be held at Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York, or an alternate site if necessary, beginning on August 30, 2004;
d) Nominate one (1) elector from the Seventh Congressional District of Virginia to the 2004 electoral college; and
e) Transact any other business that may properly come before the Convention.
Every person elected as a delegate or alternate to the Seventh Congressional District Convention will be asked to pay a voluntary registration fee in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). This fee will be payable to Rappahannock County GOP no later than the evening of the Mass Meeting. Payments are non-refundable and are not tax-deductible!
All legal and qualified votes in Rappahannock County, Virginia regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex. who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party in this Mass Meeting.
