Mt. Vernon, farmed by Cliff Miller’s family since 1817, is an ideal setting for this program. In the past two years, Cliff has dedicated 160 acres to the CREP program; some 15,000 hardwood trees have been planted at Mt. Vernon, fencing cattle away from the Thornton River and preventing erosion and siltation.
