Team captain Ellen Timbers of Woodville, along with her local team, Melvin’s Crusaders, will be holding a fund raiser bake sale on April 10, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Shiloh Baptist Church (indoors). The church is located at 618 Red Oak Mountain Road in Woodville.
Melvin’s Crusaders are raising money for the Relay for Life, sponsored by the American Cancer Society’s South-Atlantic Division.
This year’s walk will be held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School on May 22-23.
Funds raised will be used for cancer research, advocacy and education, management and services. More information will be available at the bake sale. All are welcome to attend and encouraged to support our local Relay for Life.
Congratulations to Kelli Maige, first-year varsity member of the Panthers’ Girl’s Track Tfeam. Her athletic performance at the track meets last month attributed greatly to the Team’s victories.
Obituary
Jonathan A. Harris
Family in Woodville
Jonathan Augustas Harris, 22, of Elkwood died March 30 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
He was the son of Robert A Harris and the late Susan Hawkins Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by two brothers, Robert William Harris and Joshua Adam Harris both of Culpeper, two sisters, Gwendolyn Dodson of Remington and Ashley Nicole Compton of Woodville.
Additional survivors include maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hawkins of Culpeper, Paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Harris of Charlottesville, numerous aunts, ■- uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held April 5 at Found and Sons Chapel in Culpeper, with John S. Farrar officiating. Interment was followed in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Jeffersonton.
