National French

Contest

Wakefield Country Day School students did extremely well in this year’s national French Contest - Le Grand Concours 2005. Competing with over 103,000 other students, six WCDS primary school students received commendations for their performance on the National French Exam and were invited to the official awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., which was held May 25, 2005. These students scored in the top 20% within their division: John Morgan Christoph (ranked in top 16%), Sonia Mehta(ranked in top 14%), Sam Nolan (ranked in top 17%), Josh Gressley ranked in top 20%), Danielle Gressly (ranked in top 20%), and three students from Rappahannock County — Alex Foster of Flint Hill (ranked in top 17%), Grace Alexander of Woodville (ranked in top 17%), and Katie Huang of Amissville (ranked in top 4%).
