Essay contest winners announced The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Culpeper Chapter #73 are pleased to announce the winners of their essay contest: Grades 1-3: First place, Chris Payne from Flint Hill, is a second grade student at Wakefield Country Day School. Grades 4-6: First place, Hunter Kapp from Viewtown, is a 6th grade student at Culpeper. Grades 7-9: First place, Austin Burdick from Flint Hill, a 7th grade home-schooled student. Second place, Caroline Massie from Amissville, is an 8th grade student attending Rappahannock County High School. Third place, Tyler Burdick from Flint Hill, is a 7th grade home-schooled student. Grades 10-12,: First place, Erin Junior attending Culpeper High School. Jessica Ward, a senior graduating from Culpeper High School, received the Lillian Stonesiffer Scholarship.
