Section 24.2-530 of the Code of Virginia specifically provides that, in any primary election, “All persons qualified to vote...may vote at the primary. No person shall vote, for the candidates of more than one party. ” Therefore, each voter must tell the Officers of Election at the pollbooks the name of the party in whose primary he or she wishes to vote.
