The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community which sponsored the premiere of Laurie Marshall's "Stories from the Dust in the Comer" this spring, is continuing its support of the project. The National Hospice Organization has invited the production to be presented at its national Conference on Bereavement and Spirituality in San Francisco Aug. 1921. Ms. Marshall and other members of the Song Sweepers will also offer a workshop in the use of storytelling, art and movement in the bereavement process...

For the 34th consecutive year, Mr. William Carrigan extends a Cordial invitation, to the people and Mends of Rappahannock County to spend the evening of July Fourth on the grounds of Avon Hall. Families and groups are encouraged to bring picnic suppers and spread out their blankets and enjoy the variety of activities from the vantage point on Courthouse Hill. Food and drink will also be available at the monument entrance at Avon Hall, sponsored by the Washington Volunteer Fire Department. ... Beginning at 6 p.m., there will be a program of games, entertainment and music, followed by fireworks by the lake in front of Avon Hall. The fireworks are provided by the Town of Washington, and the fireworks show will be produced by Hubert S. Gilkey and friends.
