brought their brand oF Christian and patriotic music, or “inspirational pop,” to each of the 48 contiguous United States, Canada and Mexico.
Traveling in a large Suburban-like vehicle, they played for colleges and churches throughout the country. They also performed in the Air Force Academy Chapel, and the large People’s Church in Toronto. Working in construction as necessary to help finance their musical ministry, the Shorb Brothers were on the road almost every week. They began as an a cappella group but, as two of the brothers were accomplished musicians, they soon added instrumentation to their act.
Once, caught in a blizzard in Boston, they were unable to get to their engagement. The place they were staying had a lounge, and the act that was to perform there was similarly stranded elsewhere. The Shorb Brothers stepped in and played their show to a grateful but captive audience.
During the 23 years that the Shorb Brothers were performing and touring, they were also writing and arranging their own music. They were in recording studios 34 times, and released 17 albums.
