Rappahannock County Elementary School students took their first step over the bridge to high school as they celebrated their graduation from elementary school last Wednesday, June 15. Most of the eighty-four seventh graders will continue their education this fall at Rappahannock County High School.
At the graduation ceremony, numerous awards were presented, ranging from academic excellence to physical education.
Each year the seventh graders are asked to choose a student who embodies the characteristics of one of their volunteers, Liz Ible. Tble loved learning and shared that love with others, she was characterized as kind and generous to a fault.
The recipient of the Liz Tble Award exemplifies the meaning of kindness, consideration and the love of learning.
“This child worked tirelessly all year to improve their skills in the classroom &nd in sports,” said Ms. Holly Massie.
William Wordsworth once said that “the best portion of a good man's life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.”
This year's Liz Tble Award went to Wesley Grant Minder.
