Long overdue congratulations are in order for Courtney Hutcheson who is from our very own Chester Gap. Courtney is the Valedictorian of the Rappahannock County High School graduating class of 2006. Courtney and her parents Gregory and Melissa Hutcheson are looking forward to this Saturday, August 19, which is when Courtney will begin her freshmen year at that hollowed institution the University of Virginia.
We all wish you the best of luck and success at college Courtney and I for one am very sorry that we haven’t recognized such a celebrity sooner!

Yes indeed, this change in the weather sure has been great hasn’t it?! If you stop and think about it though if we hadn’t suffered through the horribly hot weeks before now we most likely would have never noticed just how lovely this weather is.
Life is like that sometimes; if you don’t earn it, so to speak or work for something then you just never folly appreciate it and treasure it as much as you really should. Brother Mac tells us, along with the bible, that the Lord works in a similar manner. He will sometimes put us through the fire to bum off the impurities which is to say walk us through trails and tribulations so that we learn to trust in him and not in ourselves. Sounds simple doesn’t it but it’s not easy for a lot of folks to grasp on to especially at first and for some time for some Christians as well.
It doesn’t mean that no matter what happens you can never fail or let it get to you, even Job finally gave in a little at the end but, that we do our best every time in good faith and trust that God sees all and will guide us as he sees fit. Some folks worry still over knowing when God is speaking to them, since there appears to be a shortage of
