It seems to me that this hummer believes in preemptive warfare, and when his war is begun, he is determined come what may, to stay the course. He is also dedicated to the free play of the market, since his is an ownership society, unfettered by any regulation. If, occasionally, another hummer gains access to the feeder, it is simply a case of trickier down economics.
In his opinion, he is free to act without regard to any limits imposed by law or by adverse judgments of the owner of the feeder.
