Dear Students, Employees,
Parents, and Rappahannock Citizens:
We’re ready to open school on August 28. With all the water that came into RCES in August 2005, we have repeated mold testing several times including a series of tests this month. According to the licensed firm that conducted the tests, we have no toxic mold problems at the school. The school has gotten a fresh coat of paint in many areas. The new roof and facade look great. The new AC system made a real difference last Spring and will make the hot days of August and September comfortable for teaching and learning. Custodians have completed summer cleaning and waxing at both schools.
Following the May resignation of Executive Director of HR and Instruction Raye Tupper to take a position in Fauquier and the June resignation of Director of Special Services Susan Myers to be a professor at Virginia Tech, the positions were advertised and the School Board interviewed two finalists for each position. The Board decided to promote David Covington from RCES
