BANG PHUNG BangPhung is living proof that a lifetime of hard work and determination pays off. Bang was a soldier in the South Vietnamese Army during the Vietnam War. Not long after North Vietnam took over South Vietnam, Bang's family had no cnoice but to flee for their safety. In 1979, the Phungs left Saigon on a treacherous four-day journey by boat ‘There was no food, no water, no anything," Bang says. "Everybody on the boat was sick." After living in Hong Kong for six months, Bang's family mowed to the United States. And despite tne language harrier and financial hardships Bang managed to create a comfortable life for his family in America. Bang is a well-respected and well-liked housekeeper at Fauquier Hospital. His positive attitude shows in everything he does and he is very proud of his family's accomplishments. His wife works at Fauquier Hospital, his son is a successful lawyer, and his (laughter attends Harvard Unneniiy.
