Once a TMDL study has been completed, an Implementation Plan (IP) should begin. An IP is a document required by VA law detailing the type of pollution control measures needed to clean-up an impaired water body. In response to the CWA, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VA DEQ) has listed as “impaired” 16 stream segments in the Upper Rappahannock River Basin not meeting state water quality standards.
Starting on October 4th, 2006 at the Mt. Nebo Church in Rochelle, VA, a series of public meetings will be held throughout the Rappahannock River Basin to discuss these upcoming TMDL studies. Engineering Concepts, Inc located in Fincastle, VA is the organization in charge of drafting the TMDL studies.
