Experienced Part-Time individual to establish and oversee initiatives that address the County's multi-lingual service delivery issues. The Multi-Lingual Coordinator position will work closely with County Administration to provide and coordinate services to the entire County government organization. The position will develop and implement a strategic plan for multi-lingua! service delivery that addresses organizational and service needs. The Multi-Lingual coordinator will be a centralized clearinghouse, resource and will serve as the County's technical advisor for translation and interpretation services, software and visual aides. The position will be responsible for devising and implementing organizational marketing ideas and will work with other departments to expand language training options, to develop targeted strategies and to consider policies that address Limited English Proficiency (LEP) service delivery. An important component of the Multi-Lingual Coordinator's responsibilities will be to maintain and strengthen collaboration with community partners, such as private agencies, non-profit organizations, community centers and local educational institutions and work with other jurisdictions, citizens and community leaders to develop and promote effective multi-cultural services. The position will also be responsible for managing programmatic funds and exploring alternative funding sources. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree to a related field plus four years of progressively responsible related experience. Knowledge Of the principles and practices 01 organizational management, budgeting, and financial management. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Fluency in one or more non-English languages is preferred. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background check, TB test, driving record check and a valid driver's Icense in Virginia or regional state of residence.
