believes that the budget controversy was exacerbated by poor communication from the supervisors regarding expenditures and the proposed two cent Conservation Easement District.
“There needed to be more information, the public was uninformed,” said EstesBaader. “You have to be the voice of the people and there has to be communication. If there’s a next time [for the Conservation Easement District], I hope there’s more information for the public,” she added.
However, Estes-Baader’s search for a solution to the County’s tax problem doesn’t mean that she is against spending county dollars.
“Affordable housing is definitely a problem here. I have a son who wants to stay in the county, and people are getting priced out. . .1 would be in favor of county spending on affordable housing,” said Estes-Baader.
