Students in the program get a taste of agriculture as a science, a career option, and a source of healthy eating. The program operates through the high school Horticulture class in x>iyunction with other classes, including Culinary Arts, Building Trades, Industrial Education, Geospatial Ibchnologies, Business, and Art. Student-grown food supplements the school salad bars and is donated to the Rappahannock County Senior Nutrition Center. Culinary Arts classes prepare ‘Seasonal and Local Food” tastings that introduce all students to healthy, seasonal food aptions. Business classes create point-of-sale materials to support the annual Horticulture plant sale, where students sell their wares first-hand. Industrial Technology students maintain the tools and equipment.
