“There is definitely a problem with affordable housing for young people and older people on fixed incomes in this county,” said Wayland. He believes that the county should look to encouraging the development of small parcels outside the villages, to create cheaper real estate.
“A young person just starting out can’t afford 25 acres with a house. We definitely need to look at growing our villages more,” said Wayland.
Wayland’s emphasis on fiscal responsibility also shows itself when he talks about taxes in the county.
