Neighbors’ primary concern was safety on Ben Venue Road! The narrow, winding road serves as a heavily traveled shortcut between Flint Hill and U.S. 211. Adding truck traffic to the mix is a disaster waiting to happen, they said.

Flint Hill resident Jean Lillard asked, “Does somebody have to get killed to drive this fact home?”

The road is as narrow as 16 feet in some areas, she said. And incidents have already occurred on the road with Williams’ trucks, she added, but they go unreported. She gave the example of an acquaintance whose rear view mirror was knocked off by one of Williams’ vehicles.

Williams said that is the only traffic incident that any of his trucks have had on the road, and he has been operating at the site since 1993.
