Cantor has also become more vocal since the elections of 2004.
The chairman of the Virginia Democratic Party reportedly referred to Cantor as a “Bush attack dog,” for Cantor's condemnations of the 9/11 commission and Congressional Democrats.
The Congressman was hopeful for the future, saying that the Democratic takeover would last only two years.
"The direction they’re (the Democrats are) taking the economy doesn’t match what the people want,” Cantor said. “Like continued expansion and job creation.”
But most agree: Cantor isn’t going anywhere unless he wants to.
“In politics you dance with the one that brung you,” Stroupe said. “Too often where politicians go astray, they flounder in keeping the promises they made to the voters. And I don’t see Congressman Cantor doing that.”
