Hie Fords took the self-publishing route and have now formed Whit’s End Publishing to market Jan’s book.
“I’m planning to contact school districts,” said Jan’s father, “to see if they’d like to pick it up. It’s good for young readers.”
This past Saturday, the Fords held a party in honor of Jan and his new book. While still difficult to hold a pen and write, Jan patiently sat for several hours signing books for visiting friends, neighbors and relatives. Many of them prayed and are still praying for Jan’s complete 100 percent recovery.
Jan recalled relearning things, “My very elaborate memory just started to unfold nine planets,” he stated like a lost friend that had just returned to pay him a visit.
Jan will celebrate his 29th birthday this month. It’s been over ten years since the Occident. From a coma to a magnificent comeback, Jan is walking, talking and has now published his first book.
Talking and listening to Jan and sharing his'success with his parents is a testament to his spirit and their supportiveness.
“There’s a difference between having faith and having hope,” said his father John Ford. “We had faith that Jan would be returned to us that he would come home again.”
