Williams replaces Kemp Pullen - the only head football coach in RCHS football’s twoyear history - who abruptly resigned following the 2006 season after going 1-9.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of molding the Rappahannock County football program into a winning program,” Williams said. “I think there is a lot of potential in the Rappahannock County’s football program. It’s a new program that needs to be shaped.”
In his six years as head coach of Holston, a single A school with 297 kids, Williams took over a program which started with 18 kids and by last season had 53 kids on the varsity squad.
“Our goal is to build up numbers,” said Bob Czekaj, who assumed RCHS’ athletic director position on July 1. “The more kids that we get to participate, the better we will be.”
