.This year, Waterpenny Farm will have only a few crops (those that we don’t mulch) until late August. These include lettuce, broccoli, greens, scallions, onions, garlic (which is mulched, but with uncontaminated hay), leafy greens, beets, flowers and eggs. Half of the farm is unaffected, and our fourth tomato planting, as well as late squash, cucumbers and melons, will be ready sometime in August. Fall offerings like winter squash and greens should be on schedule. Our Community Supported Agriculture is canceled for eight weeks. We are dropping the Warrenton market for the summer, but will be taking a reduced load to Saturday (Charlottesville) and Sunday (Thkoma Park, Md.) markets, and will have produce on the farm on Fridays and Saturdays. We hope to supplement our offerings on the farm with produce from other pesticide-firee farms in the area.
