Monarchs

For years, the Rappahannock Monarchs have been a model of futility. A punching bag for other teams in the Apple Valley Baseball League to hawt on.

But the Monarchs have had enough, and this year they’re' swinging back.

Last Sunday, the Monarchs assumed control of the league standings, beating Woodstock 12-3 and 8-5 in a doubleheader at Culpeper County High School to improve to 7-2 on the season.

“We've got a lot of new guys this year. Guys with a lot if experience,” Coach Dewayne Willoughby said. “They have made a world of difference.”
