Cefnoakpark Bouncer’s track to the July 18-22 World Combined Pony Driving Championship in Kinabstrrup, Denmark, is deja vu all over again, in the immortal words of Yogi Berra.
The Welsh Cob gelding has local connections in his owners, Wayne and Sybil Humphreys of Rapidan. Though Humphreys also competes the bay pony in driving events, world-class driver Sqzy Stafford will have the reins for the championships, as she did in a 2005 championship effort in England.

To qualify for the 2007 U.S. team (and associated funding), the reigning World Champion had to demonstrate his readiness at the international level. Compared to the efforts required to get the flashy Bouncer to the 2005 World Games, this year was a jog in the park, said Sybil Humphreys.
With three spring observation trials and three selection trials to equal six marathons under Bouncer’s overcheck, the Humphreys next had to pluck Bouncer out of their Orange County backyard to attend a final trials in Bromont, Canada.
The machinations were necessary so Bouncer and Suzy Stafford could demonstrate to the satisfaction of five team selectors that they could represent the U.S. team. With Stafford driving Bouncer for the first time in two years, they won the single pony division
