At a Veterans Day ceremony at the Rappahannock County High School, Washington’s Capt Michael Dei Grasso explained how he was drawn to serve Ns country in the United States Marine Corps while attending school in Rappahannock. The keynoter urged Ms fellow citizens to remember that “Freedom is not free but is paid for by the sacrifices of our veterans.” Some 26 other RCBS students “who currently serve or have served in the armed forces were cited in the program. The ceremony rang out with pageantry as a Colorguard from the local Boys Scouts presented the flags and the award-winning Rappahannock County High School Band played a selection of rousing patriotic music.
